ABOUT ME
Education and Experience
I graduated from West Chester University of Pennsylvania (WCU) in 2004 with a Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education. I taught in the Coatesville Area School District until 2008, when I earned my Master's of Education in Elementary School Counseling from WCU. I worked as a Kindergarten through 2nd grade school counselor in the Garnet Valley School District until I moved to Florida in 2012. During my time as a school counselor, I also earned a Certificate in Autism from WCU to better serve my students in social skills groups. I became a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in PA in 2012. Florida does not have reciprocity, nor does the state have LPC as a title. Therefore, I took 3 required courses at Southeastern University and passed the exam to become a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Florida.
I became a stay-at-home mom ever since moving to Florida in 2012. I have been homeschooling some of my children since 2017. My husband and I became parents when I gave birth to our first child in 2007. We had another baby in 2011. We became foster caregivers through Heartland For Children in 2016 and fostered a sibling group of 3 children who we were blessed to adopt in 2018. We adopted another child in 2019. She requires 24-hour care. We unofficially adopted one of my Bible study students/mentees in 2020. We now have 7 children ages 21 to 9 (6 girls and 1 boy, in that order.)
